For how this was done, see [[Legal and Privacy#Usage Notices]] - [Show Properties in Obsidian Publish](https://djr.bio/Hobbies/Software/Applications/Obsidian/Publish/Show+Properties+in+Obsidian+Publish). The standard fields displayed are as follows. - **createdAt**: date & time the post was originally published, including to past iterations of this site or other source platforms. - **updatedAt**: date & time of last edit. - **cssclasses**: allows the named css class(es) to target and style an individual note rather than applying to the entire vault. - **ai-disclosure**: single word descriptor of extent of AI/LLM involvement in page content. The intent of this value is that it can be applied to any individual sentence picked at random from the content. Possible values in increasing order of AI/LLM involvement are: - `none` - No AI products or LLMs were used in the creation of this content. - `assist` - All published prose was written by me. One or more AI/LLM products assisted with research, quality checks, suggestions, or copyediting. What I published is my own words, informed by the model's input. - `co-write` - An AI/LLM drafted portions of the published prose from my notes, facts, opinions, or directions, which I reviewed, edited, and accepted. Both the model and I have sentences in the finished product. - `generate` - The finished product is predominantly AI/LLM-authored from my prompt or outline, and was accepted with few or no human changes. (I try to avoid doing this; and if you see this value, you should harass me into investing the time to make that content fit the "co-write" definition) - **ai-notes**: freeform text clarifying the AI/LLM model(s) used and summary of their input to the page. - This may be omitted on pages where `ai-disclosure` is `none`. ## See Also While I think this ai-disclosure and ai-notes convention is likely unique, there are other individuals and entities that have explored the same convention in spirit but with differing implementations. Because neither I nor the model that assisted in implementing this (GLM) are 100% certain this was not influenced or outright copied from another source, I want to acknowledge some of the closest matches to this approach as a means of credit for (potential) use. - **AI Content Disclosure for HTML** (dweekly's spec) — an `ai-disclosure` HTML attribute and meta tag for declaring degree of AI involvement at the element level ([GitHub explainer](https://github.com/dweekly/ai-content-disclosure)) - **ggfevans/ai-disclosure** — a machine-readable frontmatter convention for declaring AI involvement in _source code_ ([GitHub](https://github.com/ggfevans/ai-disclosure)) - **C2PA** — the provenance standard just added a `c2pa.ai-disclosure` assertion capturing model provenance and degree of human oversight ([C2PA](https://c2pa.org/a-new-implementation-guide-for-content-credentials/)) # Commitment to Privacy > [!attention] > This website and its operator do not collect personally identifiable information at any point or by any means. **I do not collect your data. Thus, I do not store nor have access to your data, and I cannot modify or delete it.** > > Anonymized pageview data is collected; see [[#GoatCounter]], below. This website does rely on and make use of other services which ***may*** collect personal data. I have made a best effort to inventory these additional services, see section [[#Third Parties]] below. Any inquiries about personal data collected or held by third-party sites/services must be directed to those entities directly. ## First Party ### User Input No user input of any kind is collected on this site. You cannot register an account. No comments functionality exists. ### Cookies No cookies are collected or stored by this site or its operator. ### Advertising No advertising is served via this site. Besides, you should be running an adblocker anyway. ### Google Fonts Google Fonts are not used on this site. ## Third Parties ### Obsidian [Obsidian](https://obsidian.md/) is a note taking app and personal knowledge management tool. This site is rendered and served via an Obsidian feature called Obsidian [Publish](https://obsidian.md/publish). Obsidian's Privacy Policy can be found [here](https://obsidian.md/privacy). ### Cloudflare This site is served from behind Cloudflare services, specifically DNS [per these instructions](https://obsidian.md/help/publish/domains) using [Full Mode](https://developers.cloudflare.com/ssl/origin-configuration/ssl-modes/full/). Cloudflare may collect identifiers and usage data. Read Cloudflare's [privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) for more information. As a matter of principle I do not use Cloudflare as my domain registrar, and I do not use any paid tier services from Cloudflare. This site only makes use of Cloudflare's free tier services. [Cloudflare](https://srslyriskybiz.substack.com/p/albania-severs-diplomatic-ties-with) [provides](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/feb/10/web-giant-cloudflare-storing-extreme-neo-nazi-content-on-uk-soil) [service](https://www.vice.com/en/article/j5yxxg/cloudflare-is-protecting-a-site-linked-to-a-neo-nazi-terror-group) to various [bad actors](https://arstechnica.com/security/2024/07/cloudflare-once-again-comes-under-pressure-for-enabling-abusive-sites/) including [hate groups](https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2022/09/cloudflare-explains-why-kiwi-farms-was-its-most-dangerous-customer-ever/) and has dragged their feet on deplatforming such entities while profiting from them. I urge you strongly to not give them your money, and instead find alternatives wherever feasible. ### GoatCounter [GoatCounter](https://goatcounter.com/) is an [open source](https://github.com/arp242/goatcounter) service used for site analytics. You can view GoatCounter's privacy policy [here.](https://www.goatcounter.com/help/privacy) > [!attention] > If you do not wish to be tracked by GoatCounter, you can disable GoatCounter by blocking ==**gc.zgo.at**== in your adblocker or firewall. You can view this site's GoatCounter dashboard [here.](https://fjm1axg.goatcounter.com/) What you see on this dashboard is the same thing I see. I have configured a data retention policy of 90 days in GoatCounter. All information collected by GoatCounter is automatically deleted 90 days after the logged event / pageview. GoatCounter is configured to collect the following information, below. - **Sessions**: Track unique visitors for up to 8 hours; if you disable this then someone pressing e.g. F5 to reload the page will just show as 2 pageviews instead of 1. GoatCounter stores only salted, non-reversible hashes for session counting. - **Referrer**: Referrer header and campaign parameters. - **User-Agent**: Browser and system name derived from the User-Agent header (the header itself is not stored). - **Size**: Screen size. - **Country**: Country name, for example Belgium, Indonesia, etc. ### Embeds This site may include embeds from other websites, but as a matter of best practice I try to avoid embeds and instead use linked text. But, as a preemptive measure in case an embed is necessary, I provide here the privacy policy or most relevant policy of the services from which I have embedded content previously or anticipate doing so in the future. - **Bluesky**: Bluesky's privacy policy can be found [here](https://bsky.social/about/support/privacy-policy). - **Mastodon**: As Mastodon relies on multiple instances brought together via federation, Terms of Service and Privacy Policies may vary from instance to instance. I link here to [infosec.exchange's privacy policy](https://infosec.exchange/privacy-policy), as it is the instance I interact with most and am most likely to embed any posts from. - **YouTube**: [Privacy Enhanced Mode](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780?hl=en) is utilized wherever a YouTube embed is present on this site. - **Twitter/X**: As of 2023 I no longer make use of Twitter/X and have deleted my account. I advise you to approach any policy statements by X as potentially misleading and subject to change. Any Twitter/X embeds on this site will be served via a proxy, such as [vxtwitter](https://github.com/dylanpdx/BetterTwitFix). # All Else You may be trackable through external links to other websites. Websites and services other than this site and their cross-site tracking methods are outside the scope of this privacy statement. You must do your own due diligence in this regard.
